about

The Empresarios had a huge year in 2015, self-releasing their third studio album The Vibes, moving crowds at a number of shows and festivals plus a media tour and performances in Puerto Rico. The Empresarios are now launching their own label, Empresarios Musica, with a series of remix EPs from the 2015 album. No strangers to being remixed and remixing others, The Empresarios have tapped into their tight network of musicians and formed new collaborations while touring and performing over the last five years. Most recently linked up with Miami based, Colombian rapper Ephniko, he was featured on the album's title track and the first remix EP.

Keeping it internationally tropicaliente, one of The Empresarios’ new connections is Athens, Greece based Balkan Riddims who are known for their global and eclectic bass infused rhythms. Balkan Riddims have spun The Vibes into a digital reggae monster with their typical booming bass and crisp beats. The original track is very strong, but this remix just takes it to new heights to crush dancefloors worldwide.

Miami-based Kinky Electric Noise was one of the first producers to ever remix The Empresarios. They are back with a super smooth remix with a deep dub vibe. Their remix of The Vibes sets the mood as synths, keyboards, and guitars all come into play. Kinky Electric Noise has stripped down the original to create a rich bed of groovy tropical sounds and then introduces the vocals in this dubbed out rendition of the song. This smooth remix will be a DJs favorite at pool parties and late night sessions.

Longtime Washington, DC producer, Desmond Williams has whipped up a dancehall remix, taking The Vibes in the opposite direction of Kinky Electric Noise. Desmond Williams showcases his decades of experience with reggae music and has pitched up the original version to create a dancehall anthem to get you moving and grooving. With production credits on albums of big names like Thievery Corporation and Midnite, Desmond Williams brings a high caliber sound to the remix.

Rounding out the release are MILK$, emerging newcomers from Washington, DC who are quickly making waves with their dope remixes. The Empresarios are stoked to feature their remix, which really captures current sounds with cut-up vocals and a minimal trap sound. MILK$ have done an impressive job of blending together Latin and reggae music, while managing to create a modern sound that will transcend genres with ease.

These four remixes are a great package ranging from dub and reggae, to dancehall, trap and global bass. Instrumentals of all four remixes are also available, as these tracks are destined for the dancefloor. The Empresarios are honored to offer such a solid first EP on their new label.
